So what’s the challenge…

The BI & Analytics Engineer designs, manages, monitors, and secures BI/Analytics solutions according to business requirements, focusing on the efficient and effective data management, high performance and proper compliance.

Your day to day will include:

•    Participating in the design and implementation of OPAP Data Warehouse components, database objects, data marts, ETL procedures, reports, dashboards and other data processing and presentation modules.
•    Analysing business requirements and system functions and developing a solid understanding of OPAP products and operations, thus being able to associate produced data with its real-life transactions and processes.
•    Contributing to Data Governance processes to enable high data quality throughout the data lifecycle focusing on availability, usability, consistency, integrity, security 
•    Cooperating in the context of BI projects/streams with OPAP project managers, vendors and delivery teams and develops BI solutions according to business needs delivered in the form of Data Marts, semantic layers, scheduled or parametric reports, ad-hoc analyses and data management services
•    Participating in Unit Testing (UAT) cycles either by authoring and executing BI-specific use cases in cooperation with QA or by supporting relevant processes of other teams
•    Leveraging available tools and techniques to consolidate information from various data sources and platforms presenting a holistic and multi-dimensional view of the Organization that will drive decision support and support operations.
•    Executing the necessary maintenance activities in the Data Warehouses of OPAP as well as those delivered by OPAP's vendors as part of their solutions, and proceeding to the troubleshooting of potential incidents enabling their effective operatio
•    Detecting, diagnoses and resolves problems in BI/Analytics-related areas, and performs reconciliations and proposes ways to further improve the department’s proactivity and incident-solving capability 
•    Being compliant and following regulatory standards and applicable law and Data Protection guidelines
•    Documenting BI-related applications, reports, dashboards etc. and providing the necessary training and support to end users for the accurate use of BI solutions
•    Enabling business users to utilize self-service tools to uncover business insights, supporting them in their daily tasks and assisting them with any data-, reporting/analytics tool- and process-related tasks

What you need to succeed:

•    BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant field. An MSc degree in relevant topic is desirable
•    3+ years of experience in requirements analysis, design, development, testing and support of large scale BI projects
•    Proven experience in an Analyst/Developer role in relational database systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase IQ, DB2, IBM Netezza, etc.), data management, reporting, analytics in a multidimensional large data warehouse environment
•    Experience in at least one ETL tool (SSIS, Informatica, DataStage or similar)
•    Experience in Report/Dashboard design and multidimensional analysis using tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, QlikView, Oracle BI, Microsoft SSAS/SSRS or similar
•    Experience with Cloud-based platforms for Big Data and Analytics (Azure/PowerBI, AWS, Google Analytics)
•    Familiarity with data mining and analytics tools (IBM SPSS Modeler, SAS Data Mining, SAP Predictive Analytics, SSAS) is desirable.
•    Data Science fundamentals and familiarity with commonly used tools and platforms (Python, R, DataBricks) is desirable.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
•    Effective organizational and planning skills to deal with a variety of projects 
•    Team player and excellent communication and presentation skills
•    Ability to work under pressure and deliver within strict timeframes
