The Plasma Technology Group of the High Voltage Laboratory of the University of Patras offers one (1) PostDoc Job.
Your Role...
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting competitive research in the field of high voltage engineering, cold plasma physics, and cold plasma technology. This position requires a high level of proficiency in power and high voltage electronics. The postdoctoral researcher will be a member of the Plasma Technology Group of the High Voltage Laboratory, which is a part of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece.
The research conducted, which was established through a research excellence program (HORIZON – Pathfinder; 2024 – 2028) funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC), is focused on the cold plasma physics and technology in the field of biomedicine (cancer treatment). Our primary research directions include the development of atmospheric pressure cold plasma reactors and driving high voltage power supplies (from DC and AC, down to sub-ns HV pulses), power electronics, cutting edge electronic systems for atmospheric pressure cold plasma real time monitoring and control in atomic level, and cold plasma diagnostics interfaced with advanced medical diagnostics during a surgery.
Tasks and mission:
The selected candidate will become a member of the Plasma Technology Group of the High Voltage Laboratory and will work closely with other investigators, as well as with the advisor-coordinator of the project, Prof. Dr. Panagiotis Svarnas. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for:
